You’d be shocked at some of the horror stories I’ve heard about service pros in a client’s home.
And honestly? That’s exactly why we talk about this at All Star Painting Inc.
Because when someone from our crew pulls into your driveway, they aren’t just there to paint. They’re representing us—our company, our family, the rest of the crew, and the standard we’ve worked hard to build. That’s a big deal.
So we take hiring seriously. And we take training even more seriously.
We care about who represents All Star Painting Inc. on your job site
There are a lot of painting companies out there. Some are great. Some are… not so great.
But one thing homeowners don’t always think about until they’ve had a bad experience is this:
You’re not just hiring “a paint job.” You’re hiring the people who will be inside your home.
That means:
- How they act when you’re not watching
- How they speak to you (and your family)
- How they treat your property
- How they communicate when something unexpected comes up
- Whether they leave a job site cleaner than they found it
Painting is the easy part. Being a professional in someone’s home is where it really counts.
Experience isn’t our #1 hiring qualification (and that surprises people)
Here’s something most companies don’t say out loud:
Experience isn’t our top hiring qualification. In fact, it isn’t even in our top five.
That might sound backwards at first. Shouldn’t you hire the most experienced painters you can find?
Not always.
Because we’ve seen it firsthand, someone can have years of experience and still be a nightmare on a job site. The kind of person who’s negative, careless, hard to coach, rude, or toxic to a good team.
I know because I’ve worked with those guys. And I’ve also had to let them go… quickly.
What we’d rather do is hire someone with:
- a great attitude
- humility
- strong work ethic
- a willingness to learn
- and a mindset that says, “I’m here to do this the right way.”
That person? We can train.
We’d rather train a great person into a great painter
A new painter who comes in with the right mindset can be carefully trained by seasoned professionals to meet All Star excellence standards.
That’s how you build consistency.
That’s how you protect your reputation.
And that’s how you make sure every client gets the same level of care whether it’s a smaller touch-up job or a full exterior repaint.
Because we’re not interested in “good enough.” We’re interested in doing it right, the first time, without drama.
What our Monday morning crew meetings look like
One of the ways we keep our standards high is simple, but it matters:
We meet every Monday morning. Every week.
And it’s not just a quick “grab your gear and go.”
We talk about:
- our weekend (and yes, we usually end up commiserating about the Vikings loss)
- recent jobs and client feedback
- any job site issues, performance, communication, or anything else
- what we learned, and what we’ll do better next time
We treat mistakes like teachable moments. Not because we’re perfect, but because we don’t like repeating the same problems over and over.
We also read Scripture together and pray for each other. We’re a team, and we take care of our people.
And when we get a 5-star review? We celebrate it.
Sometimes that means taking the crew out to lunch—because good work should be recognized.
The kind of crew we’re proud to send into your home
We don’t take it lightly that you’re trusting us with your space.
Our crew is made up of drug-free, family guys who care about each other and have been with us for years. That kind of stability matters. It changes how a job feels from start to finish.
You’ll notice it in the little things:
- showing up on time
- communicating clearly
- treating your home and property with respect
- cleaning up thoroughly
- staying positive, even when the job gets tough
Our standards: simple, but not negotiable
If we had to boil it down, we want every All Star client to feel three things:
1) Commitment to excellence
We don’t cut corners. We don’t rush through details. We do the job like it’s our own home.
2) Care for your home and property
We protect what matters. We work clean. We respect your space.
3) A positive, can-do attitude
Nobody wants a crew in their home that’s grumpy, sloppy, or difficult. We work hard, we solve problems, and we communicate.
Because it really does matter who is working in your home
At the end of the day, paint is paint.
But the people? The people are everything.
And if you’ve ever had a bad experience with a contractor, someone who made you uncomfortable, didn’t respect your home, or left you stressed out, you already know what I mean.
That’s why we’re intentional about who we hire, how we train, and how we lead our team.
Because when you invite All Star Painting into your home, you should feel confident about who’s in the house, not worried.
